256 hr, Level 2 Certification
The Level 2 Course is for those who want to take their herbal education to a more serious level.
To attend this class, an interview is required and you must have some previous knowledge of herbs -via the Level 1, Grassroots Herbalism course, or an equivalent (sufficient self study is fine)
This course is taught from the basis of Ayurvedic traditions. While we use western herbal approaches and herbs, we apply the Ayurvedic energetics to the uses of herbs. Healing is regularly based on the Ayurvedic approach, and diet and lifestyle is always considered.
Plant walks are a regular part of this class, and students must be prepared for these on the weekends.
Campout weekends are a lot of fun and can be different each year. In past years, we have gone to Sierraville, and Crystal mountain. This year I hope to do 2!
In this course, we work through the systems of the body, covering anatomy and physiology, the major diseases of that system, and herbs and formulas that benefit it. Some topics covered are:
Women & men's health
Healthy approaches to cleansing
The art of formulation
Medicine making- tinctures, teas, oils, salves, lotions, etc
Because this class is based in Ayurvedic medicine, a foundation in the understanding of Ayurveda is provided. Ayurvedic topics include:
Understanding the doshas & subdoshas
Ayurvedic medicine making
Mantras are used and shared regularly in this class.
In order to receive certification, a final test is required along with a plant collection of 75 plants.
Classes are held Wednesday evenings at The Wild Temple and one weekend a month. Wednesday classes can be attended online, but students must be present online during the class.
Anatomy and Physiology classes will be shared monday evenings, 7-9pm. Students may attend the live classes online or watch the replay before the wednesday evening session.
Weekend classes are 10-5, unless it is a campout weekend. If you are interested in only doing the online portion, please contact us for details.
