This time of year can be heavy on the heart for so many reasons. But at least we can have tea! Hawthorne berries are not only a cardiovascular tonic for the physical heart but support the emotional heart as well. All of the traditional chai spices are warming, move circulation and give us a little boost. Chai is also great for digestive support. Try this and let me know what you think!
click here to watch my video on Facebook or Instagram Ingredients: 2-3 cardamom pods 3 cloves 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 cinnamon stick 5 hawthorn berries 1/4 tsp ginger powder or 1 inch sliced ginger 1 rosebud or 1/2 tsp of petals 2tsp black tea 2 cups water 1cup milk Honey to taste
Add the dried spices to a mortar and pestle if available and crush to release the flavors. Place in a pan with2 cups of water and allow to simmer around 5-7 minutes. Add the black tea and roses. Simmer for 1 more minute. Add the milk and allow it to boil to the top of the pan. Remove from heat to let it settle back down and repeat. Strain. Add honey to taste. Enjoy!
